High School Sports Technology Alliance Formed
High School Sports Technology Alliance Formed
WHEELING, W.Va. - A new alliance of industry leading companies has formed to bring high school sports video to the next level. For the first time, game breakdown technology is integrated to produce team highlight clips and automatically make them accessible to the local community and the media.
The companies involved in the alliance are HighSchoolSports.net, CoachComm, PrepAthlete.com, and GamePlan Technologies. Between the current alliance members, they account for relationships with over 16,000 high schools and nearly every football coach in the nation.
“What’s been missing has been a common platform for high school sports video,” said Adolph Santorine, President of HighSchoolSports.net, “and a safe place for our children to view it. We believe that our working together is the solution.”
Initially, the collaboration will allow video to be repurposed for publicity and for use by the players themselves. In total, over 2 million still photographic images and nearly 100,000 video highlights are available, including full game video for nearly 30,000 athletic contests.
Jim McKelvey, President of PrepAthlete.com, added, “Instead of schools having to corral a number of different vendors, we offer a unified solution for their digital media and information needs.”
“The best part of this alliance is that it will make it easier and faster for coaches to edit their game video, execute internet game exchange, and get video and stats to the local media as well as college recruiters,” said CoachComm President, Peter Amos. “These are all the things today’s high school coaches want or need to do but have been held back because of slow and complex technology. This is a big win for them.”
According to Dave Glover, CEO of GamePlan, “Each of these companies are the leader in their fields, and by working together, we form a common platform that makes technology work for coaches in ways that it never has before.”
The alliance looks forward to welcoming new members in the near future as the technology platform grows and expands.
