NFL: COLLEGE FOOTBALL DUB CENTER EXCHANGE
The NFL owners have approved a resolution to electronically exchange Professional and College coaching footage beginning with 2009-10 football season.
The Club Game Exchange project is designed to fulfill that resolution by interconnecting Dub Centers at NFL Films in Mt. Laurel, NJ and NFL Network in Culver City, CA (collectively known as the Virtual Dub Center) with the 32 club locations and NFL officiating at 280 Park in NY with a private IP network serviced by Level 3 Networks.
The project will utilize content distribution software developed by Signiant, Inc. to provide a quick, efficient, secure, and fully automated method of transferring the Professional and College coaching footage to the 32 NFL clubs and officials over that IP network. Within the Signiant framework, workflows will be developed to allow for fair and equitable distribution of the content to all 32 clubs. Professional coaching footage will be exchanged solely over the private Level 3 network.
College coaching footage, alternatively, will be acquired through file upload to the Virtual Dub Center, using Signiant Media Exchange web access, from the College Video Director, or through hard drive submission from Collegiate Images. Acquired College footage will be redistributed to the 32 clubs solely on the private Level 3 network.
Exchanged files will be prioritized and made available based on current Competition Committee rules that govern the exchange of coaching footage via tape. The Virtual Dub Center will maintain a completely redundant and instantly accessible archive of all coaching footage acquired.
Finally, this project will provide clubs with a fully supported end-to-end solution for the acquisition of this content, however this project does not provide for long-term local club storage or the editing tools to manipulate this content
