Erik Kunttu

Erik Kunttu of Syracuse was elected to succeed outgoing Secretary Mike Martin of TCU at the 2007 CSVA Annual Conference.  At the 2010 CSVA conference, Kunttu was elected President.  Kunttu is currently in his 17th year directing the video operation for the entire athletics department at Syracuse, including football, basketball, lacrosse and special projects. He was recognized as the Big East Conference Video Coordinator of the Year in 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2007. He was also named the Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year by CSVA in 2005.

 

A native of Orchard Park, NY, Kunttu coordinates the video operation for the Orange football, basketball and lacrosse teams, in addition to special project assignments. Prior to his appointment at Syracuse, Kunttu was the assistant video director for the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills for four years.

 

A 1992 graduate of Canisius College with a degree in communications, Kunttu lettered three years in football as a linebacker and was Special Teams Player of the Year in 1990.

 

Kunttu resides in Syracuse with wife, Kristen, and their four children, Kaija, Mason, Davin & Jaxon.
